The latest technology in high-definition television (HDTV) is a new kind of television production as televisions LED screen. LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes and LED-jargon TV has been developed by companies like Samsung, Philips, LG Electronics, Toshiba, Vizio ProScan and popular. Otherwise, they should be called LED-backlit LCD televisions. The current LCD TVs use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps for the lights remain lit while the introduction of this new technology has simply replaced the backlight LEDs. In other words, the LED is basically a normal LCD TV, the lighting, instead of Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps LED used.

Backlight play a crucial role in an LCD television, as it is the reason why the images displayed on the screen does. With the possibility of a very limited light, or even send pictures on an LCD display without backlight. The LCD TV screen in an LED can be illuminated in 2 ways. One of them is called “edge lit”, where the LEDs are arranged around the outer edge of the LCD. This allows light to be directed inward, while maintaining the original width of the screen. While the fluorescent light tubes consume space in the traditional LCD TV, LED provides a light source from the periphery, namely the recovery of the space is consumed by the lamps. The other method is to LED from one corner, across the back of the LCD. Evaluation in terms of energy efficiency, both methods to be better than LCD and plasma TVs that use fluorescent lamps as backlight known.
